At Digital Brilliance Hour (DBH), we believe in the transformative power of STEEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Entrepreneurship, Arts, and Mathematics) education to unlock potential, inspire innovation, and change lives. We are on a mission to bridge the equity gap in STEM fields, serving Black and Latino youth who are severely underrepresented in these industries. To make this vision a reality, we’re actively seeking passionate and dedicated STEM Teachers to join our team and help shape the leaders of tomorrow.
Why Join DBH?
DBH is more than an educational program—it’s a community. Our teachers play a vital role in equipping students with the skills, confidence, and real-world experience they need to thrive in competitive industries. Whether you specialize in game development or music production, you’ll be guiding middle and high school students through interactive, project-based workshops designed to foster creativity, collaboration, and technical expertise.
We serve a diverse student population, and we value teachers who reflect the diversity of the communities we serve. If you’re passionate about empowering Black and Latino youth and breaking down systemic barriers in STEM, this opportunity is for you.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a DBH STEM Teacher, your responsibilities include:
- Delivering Engaging Lessons: Use a provided curriculum to teach game development or music production in dynamic, interactive workshops.
- Fostering Growth: Provide individualized guidance and support, helping students build confidence, creativity, and technical skills.
- Creating an Inclusive Environment: Cultivate a learning space that celebrates diversity, encourages collaboration, and inspires students to excel.
- Mentorship: Assess student progress and offer constructive feedback to foster continuous improvement.
- Collaborative Teaching: Work with other educators and staff to ensure a cohesive, impactful learning experience.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for individuals who bring passion, experience, and a commitment to empowering underserved students. Here’s what makes an ideal candidate:
- Passion for STEM Education: A genuine desire to inspire and uplift underrepresented students in STEM fields.
- Relevant Experience: Knowledge and hands-on experience in game development or music production.
- Effective Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to engage, motivate, and connect with students.
- Flexibility: An ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles.
- Diverse Perspectives: Candidates from all backgrounds are welcome, particularly those who reflect the diversity of our students.
Opportunities for Entry-Level Candidates
While we’re looking for experienced teachers, entry-level candidates with a drive to grow and learn are also encouraged to apply. If you’re passionate about software development or audio engineering but are just starting your journey, DBH offers a unique opportunity to learn while teaching.
Here’s how:
- Learn by Doing: As a teacher, you’ll gain hands-on experience by completing DBH’s courses yourself and teaching the material to students.
- Valuable Experience: This is a perfect chance for newcomers to build their skills in a supportive, real-world environment.
- Growth-Focused Environment: All we ask is that you bring enthusiasm, commitment, and a desire to keep building your skills.
Whether you’re an experienced professional or someone eager to grow, DBH is committed to supporting your development as much as you support our students’.
How Payment Works
DBH values both passion and expertise, which is why we have a clear pathway to paid opportunities:
- Teachers must complete at least one volunteer workshop (40 hours) to become eligible for paid positions($15-$25/hr).
